Jesse Reed Armistead

Jesse Reed Armistead, age 58, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his home in Houston, Texas. He died peacefully with his mother and sister by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Armistead, brother, John Aubrey Armistead, sister Sheela Bess Armistead, sister and brother-in-law, Jane Dale and Steven Edwards, and granddaughter Hailey Paige Dalton. Jesse is preceded in death by his Father, Aubrey Dale Armistead, and his son Jesse Reed Armistead Dalton.

Fidel Martinez, 57, of Big Spring, Texas, died Saturday March 8, 2014 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard L. Gully officiating.

Jacques 'Jackie' Newton

Jacques “Jackie” Newton, 92, of Big Spring died Saturday March 8, 2014 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center. Private family services will be at a later date.

She was born March 12, 1921 to Wilma and Samuel Rawls in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Thomas J. Newton in Abilene, Texas, on Feb. 17, 1945. He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 1997. She had been a resident of Big Spring for 13 years moving to the city from Midland, Texas. She was a homemaker and housewife.

Frances Billalba McKiski, 60, of Big Spring, Texas, died Sunday March 9, 2014 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Oleta Clanton, 76, of Big Spring died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her residence. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
