Altie Lee, 88, of Big Spring, Texas died quietly in her home Sunday, March 16, 2014. Altie was born April 2, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to John Henry Cherry and Georgia Mellisa Cherry.

Altie married Arnold Lee April 24, 1948, in Colorado City, Texas

She is survived by her children, Mary Farmer, Ivy Carrigan and Henry Lee; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, eight brothers and sisters, a grandson, a great-grandson and a granddaughter-in-law.

Gregorio 'George' Martinez

Gregorio “George“ Martinez, 81, of Big Spring, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at his home. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 19, 1933, to Isabel and Ventura Martinez in Eldorado, Texas. He spent most of his life in Big Spring and owned George Martinez Body Shop for more than 35 years. He married Luz Guzman on April 12, 1953. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
