Juanelle Sparks Fort

Juanelle Sparks Fort, 74, of Big Spring, died Monday, March 24, 2014, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Craig Holstedt officiating.

She was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Big Spring and was a longtime resident of Big Spring. Many may remember Juanelle as being selected Miss Howard County in 1956. She was a member of the Big Spring High School Class of 1957. Juanelle married Richard W.(Dick) Fort, who preceded her in death in August of 1992.

Maxine Crane, 87, of Sand Springs, died Saturday March 22, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center in Big Spring. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born March 8, 1927, to Minnie and Willie Holmes in Booneville, Miss. She has been in Howard County for more than 50 years. She married Jesse Crane in Junction, Texas, in 1979. She worked at Cowper Clinic and Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Spring as a LVN.

T.M. Allen, 82, of Big Spring, Texas died Friday, March 21, 2014, at his residence. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Denton Valley Cemetery, south of Clyde, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Eula, Texas and married Mary Ann McKiernan March 10, 1956, in Wichita, Kan.

Patsy Crenshaw

Patsy Crenshaw, 83, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at her residence in Abilene, Texas.

Born in Pampa, Texas on Nov. 11, 1930, Patsy was the daughter of Juanita (Reed) and Shannon M. Whittington. She was a 1948 graduate of Big Spring High School. She worked for First National Bank in Big Spring, and First National Bank in Abilene. Patsy married Jack Crenshaw on Aug. 7, 1965, in Abilene. After retiring in 1992, she moved back to Big Spring in 1994.

Richard Bloom

Richard Bloom, 66, of Coahoma, Texas, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gail Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 6, 1948 in Oklahoma City to Estella and William Bloom. He lived most of his life in Mitchell and Howard counties. He married Saundra Evans June 2, 1990, in Snyder, Texas. He was a retired truck driver working in recent years for Andrews Transport. He was a Baptist and a Mason.
