Billie Smith McLain, 89, of Colorado City, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at her residence. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
Evangeline Sturm, 91, of Big Spring, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, in a local nursing home. She passed from this life to her eternal reward surrounded by a loving family and caregivers. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born April 25, 1923 in Olfen, Texas to Helena and Ferdinand Rohmfeld. She married Louis Sturm Dec. 24, 1944 in Bryan, Texas. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 2000.
Nancy Fulgham, 73, of Big Spring died Sunday, May 04, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Tom Finnie of All Saints Anglican Church of Midland officiating.
Cecil Sherman, 48, of Big Spring, died Sunday May 4, , at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel.
He was born in Big Spring on Feb. 3, 1966 to Helen and Omer Sherman. He was a lifetime resident of Howard County. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for B & E Roustabout.

Larry Zane Shaw, 86, of Knott, Texas passed away peacefully on May 2, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Okla., where he had lived for the past year with family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Leopoldo âLeoâ Salazar, 77, of Big Spring, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr. Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Thelma E. Roberts, 88, of Big Spring, died Saturday May 3, 2014, at Parkview Nursing Center. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Pastor Doug Shelley of Eastside Baptist Church officiating.
Lynn Porter Calvert of Goliad,Â was born July 5, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas, to Athal and Bernice Porter.
She died, Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Victoria, Texas.
She earned a BA from Austin College andÂ a ME from Texas Tech. Lynn taught math in
Big Spring, Roswell, N.M., Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was high school counselor in Big Spring.
She worked for Shell Oil Co. in Roswell.
Lynn was preceded by her parents and one brother.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ashley and Joseph Villarreal; and grandson, Joseph Michael Villarreal.
The Rev. Milton Jochetz, 87, of Stanton, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Mabee Health Care Center in Midland, Texas.
He was born Sept. 23, 1926, and raised on a West Texas cotton farm near Slaton, Texas. He was the son of Walter A. Jochetz and Myrtle Lena Saage Jochetz. Milton attended school in Slaton. For a short time he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. In September 1944, he joined the United States Navy, serving two years on the USS Athene in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He married Wanda Jean Vaughan March 11, 1946.
