The Rev. Milton Jochetz, 87, of Stanton, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Mabee Health Care Center in Midland, Texas.
He was born Sept. 23, 1926, and raised on a West Texas cotton farm near Slaton, Texas. He was the son of Walter A. Jochetz and Myrtle Lena Saage Jochetz. Milton attended school in Slaton. For a short time he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. In September 1944, he joined the United States Navy, serving two years on the USS Athene in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He married Wanda Jean Vaughan March 11, 1946.
Nancy Fulgham, 73, of Big Spring, died Sunday, May 04, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Tom Finnie of All Saints Anglican Church of Midland officiating.
Graveside services for Charlie Everts, 81, of Lamesa, will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Lamesa Memorial Park with Brian Pinkerton officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Charlie passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 in Lubbock. He was born May 11, 1932, in Martin County to Dave and Ida (Smith) Everts. Charlie married Judy Airhart June 7, 1967, in Lamesa.
Evangeline M. Strum, 91, of Big Spring, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, in a local nursing home. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
Cecil Sherman, 48, of Big Spring died Sunday, May 04, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Leopoldo âLeoâ Salazar, 77, of Big Spring died Friday May 2, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Hulen McKinney, 86, of Bellevue, Wash., died Thursday, May 1, 2014. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
Lynn Porter Calvert of Goliad,Â was born July 5, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas, to Athal and Bernice Porter.
She died, Thursday, May 1, 2014, in Victoria, Texas.Â
She earned a BA from Austin College andÂ a ME from Texas Tech. Lynn taught math in Big Spring, Roswell, N.M., Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was high school counselor in Big Spring.
She worked for Shell Oil Co. in Roswell.
Lynn was preceded by her parents and one brother.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ashley and Joseph Villarreal, and
Clara Ranin Szabo, 74, of Big Spring, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 05, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Clara was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Carigara, Leyte, Philippines and married Emil Szabo June 21, 1966, in Angles City, Philippines. He preceded her in death, Dec. 9, 2002.
Larry Zane Shaw, 86, of Knott, Texas passed away peacefully May 2, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Okla., where he had lived for the past year with family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
