Pete 'J.W.' Sanderson

Pete "J.W." Sanderson, 79 of Big Spring, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday Oct. 3, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Big Spring, with his grandson, Jeremy Knight, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Glen Ray Albert

Glen Ray Albert, 84, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Big Spring with the Rev. Bill Ivins officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, at Garrett Hall at the church.
Glen was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Nowata, Okla., and married Deloris Lewis March 18, 1972, in Big Spring.

Michelle Smith

Michelle went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Michelle was born Sept. 5, 1966, to Jaquline Ann Hazley Fuglaar and John Flay Fuglaar in Big Spring, Texas.
Michelle’s lifelong dream came true when she became a member of the Sterling County EMS. She was also a member of the Mitchell County EMS and had been employed at FPL in Sterling Texas. She was currently a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary in Big Spring.

Ahra 'Jean' McKendree

Ahra “Jean” McKendree, 78, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014. She was born March 30, 1936, in Corinth, Miss., to H.K. and Jennie Mae (Hearn) Steen.
Jean was raised in Tyronza, Ark., where she graduated high school. She was a member of First Baptist Church, was a worthy matron of the Eastern Star, was president of the Ladies Club and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards at Hot Springs Country Club and bowling in the Central Bowling League. Jean was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Lynn C. Hise, 85, of Fort Worth, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, in Fort Worth. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Funeral Home with interment at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.

Lynn was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Falfurrias, Texas, to Luther and Lockey Shuford Hise. He married Mary Nell Gates June 1, 1951.

Lynn C. Hise, 85, of Fort Worth, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, in Fort Worth. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with the Rev. Mark Lindsey, officiating.

Lynn was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Falfurrias, Texas, and married Mary Nell Gates June 1, 1951.

Junior Hinojosa

Junior Hinojosa, 58, of Coahoma died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at his residence. Private family services will be at a later date.

He was born Jan. 9, 1956 in Roma, Texas to Eufemia and Enemencio Hinojosa Sr. He spent most of his life in Coahoma. He worked for the City of Coahoma. He had also worked as a truck driver for Price Construction and Cowboy Construction.

He is survived by one son, Austin Hinojosa and wife April of Coahoma; one daughter, Sierra Hinojosa of Big Spring; two grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Hinojosa of Coahoma; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Verna Mae Ashford

Verna Mae Ashford of Big Spring, Texas went home to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center at the age of 81 years old. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial following at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Helen Hollis Croft

Helen Hollis Croft, postmaster retired, passed away Sept. 25, 2014, at the age of 85. Born Sept. 9, 1929, in Duffau, Texas, Helen spent much of her childhood growing up in the Hico area with her family. Helen and her mother moved to Grand Prairie during her high school years and she graduated from Grand Prairie High School. Helen met John Croft while both were attending Tarleton College and were married on Sept. 4, 1948. John and Helen were longtime residents of the Proctor Community in Comanche County.

Paul Rolla Patrick, 16, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
