Billy O. Brown, 83, of Ackerly, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Sage Health Care Center in Lamesa. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 a.m. Monday, just prior to services at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Billy was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Ackerly and married Gracie Oaks Aug. 22, 1951. They made their home and farmed in Ackerly all their life.

Reynaldo 'Rey' Juarez

Reynaldo “Rey” Juarez, 46, of Big Spring, died Saturday May 24, 2014 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel, with burial following at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Aug. 7, 1968, to Lydia and Juan Juarez Sr. in Big Spring. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Until retiring due to ill health, he worked in construction as a roofer.

Scott “Boudro” Simpson, 51, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.

John Phillip Wilson died Friday, May 23, 2014, in a local hospital. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

Michael Dale Preston

Memorial services for Michael Dale Preston, 30, of Levelland, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Parkway Drive Baptist Church, 2913 E. 2nd St. in Lubbock.

He passed away Friday, May 16, 2014.

He was born May 4, 1984, in Lamesa.

He had worked in the oil fields for the last 11 years. His favorite pasttimes included family gatherings, singing and watching the Texas Rangers.

Daley Carrasco Franco, 40, of Odessa, formerly of Big Spring, died May 25, 2014, in Ector County. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Myers & Smith Chapel with Antonio Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born to Maria Elena and Jose Franco on May 2, 1974 in Pecos, Texas. He spent most of his life in Van Horn. He was a Catholic. He worked in the oil field as a welder.

Gilbert “Aggie” Turner, 76, of Bangs, Texas, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 25, 2014. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bangs 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014. Pat Ray will officiate the services.

Ruth Thomas Salisbury, 92, of Midland, Texas, died on May 24, 2014. Interment will be Tuesday, May 27 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Christian Church in Midland at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dr. Suzanne Castle officiating.

Ruth was born on July 28, 1921 in Big Spring, Texas. She married Howard (Skeeter) Salisbury of North Ridgefield, Ohio on June 7, 1944. He preceded her in death in March 1999.
