Kimberly Michelle Husted Grigg, 45 of Big Spring was called home Tuesday March 11, 2014. Due to Michelleâ€™s anatomical gift, she will continue to fight the battle against cancer. Michelle was born Sept. 24, 1968, in Pampa, Texas, to Carroll â€śHoneyâ€ť and Judy â€śMammawâ€ť Husted. She has been a long time resident of Big Spring and a member of First Baptist Church. She was employed by Howard College of Big Spring at the SWCID campus as administrative assistant to the Provost for 13 years.
Dorothy Yates Book, 85, an innovator in early childhood education, died early Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Arbor House assisted living facility in Marble Falls, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother; a loyal friend; and active in her community throughout most of her life.
Andra Madry Adams, 58, of Sweetwater, Texas, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in an Abilene, Texas, hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring, Texas with Lloyd Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
She was born May 29, 1955 in San Angelo,Texas and married Lynn Adams April 17, 1987 in Big Spring.
Oleta Lavern Clanton, 76, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Jim Binnix, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Frances Billalba McKiski, 60, of Big Spring, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr. Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
Jacques â€śJackieâ€ť Newton, 92, of Big Spring died Saturday March 8, 2014, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center. Private family services will be at a later date.
She was born March 12, 1921, to Wilma and Samuel Rawls in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Thomas J. Newton in Abilene, Texas on Feb. 17, 1945. He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 1997. She had been a resident of Big Spring for 13 years, moving to the city from Midland. She was a homemaker and housewife. She loved to bake chocolate meringue and lemon meringue pies. She also was a collector of salt and pepper shakers.
Arthur Thomas Barrett, 88, of Abilene, died Wednesday Feb. 19, 2014, at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.

Callie Jo Nickle, 58, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at her residence. Services are pending Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Jesse Reed Armistead, age 58, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at his home in Houston, Texas. He died peacefully with his mother and sister by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Armistead, brother, John Aubrey Armistead, sister Sheela Bess Armistead, sister and brother-in-law, Jane Dale and Steven Edwards, and granddaughter Hailey Paige Dalton. Jesse is preceded in death by his Father, Aubrey Dale Armistead, and his son Jesse Reed Armistead Dalton.
