Ted Lancaster, 86, formerly of Big Spring, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in Prescott, Ariz. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Frank Jara, 80, of Big Spring, died Sunday, Feb. 9 2014, at his residence. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
Addie Oliver, 89, of Big Spring died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Private family services will be held at a later date.
She was born March 18, 1924, at Hempstead, Texas, to Bessie and Robert Yarbough. She was a caregiver and dress maker. In later years, she worked at the Big Spring State Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Napoleon Smith Jr. and Robert Smith, both of Big Spring; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Napoleon Smith Sr. in 1955, and Raymond Oliver in 1972.
Charlcie Morehead, 81, of Big Spring died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at her residence. Private family services will be held at a later date.
She was born May 15, 1932, in Big Spring to Ossie and Charlie Rowden. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She married Jimmy Morehead in 1951 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death in 1996. She worked with her husband in Morehead Transfer and Storage. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Hyperion Club, and the Rosebud Club. She was a seamstress and did furniture upholstery.
Wanda Pearl Stump 92, of Smithville died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at the Towers Nursing Home in Smithville, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Greg Hogg, 61, of Big Spring died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Private family services will be at a later date.
He was born Sept. 8, 1952, in San Jose, Calif., to Geraldine and Harold Hogg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he went to Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief and later was stationed at Fort Eustis, Va., training helicopter technicians.
He came to Big Spring in 1971. He married Cathy Parsons in 1980 in Big Spring. He had been a truck driver with Western Container until retiring due to ill health.
Jimmy C. Nelson, 70, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the funeral home.
Jim was born Aug.14, 1943, in Big Spring and married Betty Dennis June 3, 1967, in Big Spring.
Johnnie Len Harvey, 83, of Big Spring died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Texas Ave., Midland, Texas.
Johnnie was born April 11, 1930, in Reed, Okla., and married Vivian Barrett Oct. 5, 1951, in Monahans. She preceded him in death Dec. 28, 2000.
He served in the United States Navy and worked until retirement for Northern Natural Gas as a pipeline supervisor.
Funeral services for Capt. Larry Alan Flenniken, 46, of Lamesa will be held Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Lamesa Church of Christ with Mark Hackett and Gary Flenniken officiating. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Larry passed away Tuesday Feb. 4, 2014, in Lubbock. He was born Feb. 17, 1967, in Lubbock and adopted by Vernon and Eleene (Ball) Flenniken. He married Vicki Brown Jan. 19, 1996. They were married for 18 years.
Clarence Eugene Ruther, 87, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Tollett All Faith Chapel at the Big Spring State Hospital.
