Jim Hal Parks

April 2, 2013

Jim Hal Parks passed away March 30, 2013, in Colorado City, Texas. Graveside services with military honors for Mr. Parks were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham, Texas. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Parks was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Desdemona, Texas, and moved to Graham in 1991 from Gainesville, Texas. He was a retired utility sales consultant and a member of the Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Sharon M. Ballenger

Sharon M. Ballenger, 75, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away March 29, 2013, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Sharon was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Stamford, Texas, to Jesse and Leola (Herron) Tucker. She graduated high school in Rule, Texas, in 1956 and earned a degree in elementary education from Hardin-Simmons University in 1960.

On Feb. 14, 1960, Sharon was united in marriage with William A. Ballenger. To this union three children were born. Sharon furthered her education at U.N.O., earning her master’s degree in counseling in 1976.

Sharon M. Ballenger, 75, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away March 29, 2013, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Jeffrey David Flowers, 57, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Home Hospice House in Odessa. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

He was born May 20, 1955, in Toledo Ohio to Doris and Richard Flowers. He was married to Cynthia Flowers. He was a self-employed carpenter and a Vietnam veteran.

Epefania Rios Amaro, 88, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
She was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Gonzales, Texas. She married Pedro Amaro and he preceded her in death in 1959.
She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and loving her family and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Suzanne Jordan Cranford, 67, of Big Spring died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Lindsey pastor, and Dr. Michael Dean, pastor of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 5, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa and married Reg Cranford May 29, 1971, in Wichita Falls.

James Houston Barclay Sr., 89, of Reno, Nev., died Thursday, March 21, 2013, in a Reno, Nev., nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas, with Derrick Looney officiating.

Jim was born Sept. 12, 1923, in San Augustine, Texas, to Willie and Julia (Grunning) Barclay. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Jim was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was aboard the USS Utah and made it to shore before the ship sank.
