Marianne Frances (Sparby) Garmaker, age 69, of Big Spring, Texas, formerly of Coon Rapids, Hibbing and Beardsley, Minn., died peacefully in her sleep on Feb. 23, 2014. Marianne was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Litchfield, Minn. She spent most of her life in Minnesota. She was a Methodist and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Before her retirement, she worked as a caretaker and aide for disabled and handicapped homes.
Trudy Page, 46, of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in in a Dallas hospital after a long battle with pulmonary hypertension. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel, with Tom Koger officiating.
She was born Jan. 27, 1968 to Minnie and Clifford McAllister in San Angelo. She married Dennis Page April 29, 1983. She was a Baptist and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had been a distributor for the Dallas Morning News.
Viola Hillger, 85, of Big Spring, died Wednesday Feb. 26, 2014 at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at the Garden City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
Nancy Kimble, 76, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, in a local nursing home. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Big Spring.
William Howard "Willie" Martin, 69, of Cleburne, formerly of Big Spring, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
EASTLAND â€” Former Big Spring resident Brooksie Nell Phillips Hodges, age 87, of Eastland, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Bakker Funeral Home Chapel at 411 S. Mulberry in Eastland, Texas. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. The Rev. Bruce Lambert will officiate.
Bobby Dancer, 66, of Big Spring, died Thursday Feb. 20, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Ackerly Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 6, 1947, to Elnora and John Dancer in Crockett City, Texas. He spent most of his life in Big Spring. He was a Baptist and worked at Walmart.
He is survived by a sister, Annie B. Bell of Levelland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Adam Dancer and Lacy Dancer; three sisters, Pearly Jean Jones, Eldora Dancer and Carrie D. Dancer.
Guadalupe Rodriguez Sr., 68, of Big Spring died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial following at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born to Juanita and Rafael Rodriguez Jan. 7, 1946 in Knott. He was a lifelong resident of Howard County. He was a Catholic.
Betty A. Earl, 79, of Big Spring, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
She was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Beckley, W.Va. She married Samuel Ronald Earl in Beckley, W.Va. and he preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1980.
She moved to Big Spring with her husband, who was stationed at Webb Air Force Base. Betty retired from J.C. Penney after 18 years in shoe sales.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
John W. Moody Jr, 82, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in a local nursing home. His services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
