Peggy Atchison, 82, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Big Spring died Monday, March 12, 2012, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Mount Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating.

MB Maxwell Jr.

MB Maxwell Jr., 87, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at an Abilene nursing center. He was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Brownwood, Texas, the son of Florence Gertrude (Massey) and Michael Berry Maxwell Sr.
He attended elementary school in Big Spring before finishing high school in Llano in 1943. Upon graduation, his family moved to Clyde where he met Joyce Jennings. They married in August of 1945. He served in the Army Air Corps and legally changed his name to MB (initials only) during that time.

Amy Jennifer Phillips, 31, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Memorial mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Msgr. Bernard L. Gully officiating.

Robert Earl Morehead

Robert Earl Morehead entered into heaven on March 8, 2012. He was born July 17, 1937, in Big Spring, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert “Pops” Morehead; mother, Thelma “Mom” Morehead; and his brother, Jimmy Morehead.
He is survived by his wife, Sissy, and their three daughters, Kristen Townsell and her husband Paul, Cynthia Mally and husband Ken, and Brandi Morehead; grandchildren, Austin and Matthew; sister, Doris McCullough; brothers, Michael Parrish and Gilbert Reyna; and a host of nieces and nephews as well as the loyal patrons of The Depot Saloon.

Josefina De La Rosa Rodriguez, 57, of Big Spring died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Jerry Duenes officiating. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will be at Coahoma Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 20, 1954, in Parras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Guadalupe and Roman De La Rosa. She lived most of her life in Howard County. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Leon Presley Smith, 66, of Brady, Texas, died March 10, 2012, at his residence. Visitation was held Monday, March 12, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Rolland Nelson

Rolland Nelson, 91, of Pampa, Texas, formerly Big Spring, Texas, and Arkadelphia, Ark,, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012. He was born Aug. 27, 1920, the son of John Davis and Hattie Golder Nelson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia.
