Tolbert Grisham

November 5, 2014

Tolbert Grisham, 87, formerly of Big Spring, passed away early Monday morning, Nov. 3, 2014. Tolbert was born March 29, 1927, in Winters, Texas. He married Billye Corley in 1947.

Tolbert was employed as an optician until 1982 at Malone and Hogan Clinic. Then Tolbert and Billye began Creative Celebrations, a wedding catering business in Big Spring.They did this for 25 years and retired, moving to North Richland Hills, Texas.

Tolbert is survived by his wife, Billye; his sister Totsie; his three children, Carla, Roger and Paige; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Kenny Scott, age 58, passed away this past Sunday around 2:42 a.m., after an 11-year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at College Baptist Church, Big Spring, with Bro. Ken McMeans and Bro. Jim Wilkerson officiating. Graveside service will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Darren Zitterkopf

Darren Zitterkopf, 49, of Big Spring died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel.

He was born April 9, 1965, in Merkel to Jacquelyn “Jackie” and Johnny Zitterkopf. He grew up at Coahoma. He graduated from Coahoma High School, Howard College, and Hardin Simmons.

Oscar “Popo” Valencia

Oscar “Popo” Valencia, 59, of Big Spring died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born July 7, 1955, in Brownfield, Texas to Bernarda and Sabino Valencia. He married Carolyn Rodriguez on June 8, 1974, in Big Spring. He drove trucks for Park Fuels. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

Royann (Ann) Fritzler went to be with Jesus Saturday evening, Nov. 1, 2014, at her home in Comanche, Texas, after succumbing to dementia and Parkinson's. Her remains will be cremated and scattered on Lake Brownwood, Texas.

Kenny Scott, 58, of Big Spring, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at the College Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ken McMeans officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home..

Kenny was born Dec. 3, 1955, in Big Spring and married Helen Ray June 14, 1976.

He was a Sunday School teacher and deacon at College Baptist Church.
