Edward 'Big Ed' Rangel

March 15, 2014

Edward “Big Ed” Rangel, 52, of Big Spring, died Wednesday March 12, 2014, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial following at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born in Midland, Texas, Sept. 25, 1961, to Betty and Vicente Rangel. He married Ida Robledo in 1979. He was a welder and a Catholic. He had been a resident of Big Spring for 19 years.

FORT WORTH — Raul G. Martinez passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at the age of 57.

Celebration of life: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1200 S. Davis Blvd., Arlington, Tx.

Inurement: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March, 19, 2014 in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Raul was born Feb. 17, 1957, to Reymundo G. and Paula Martinez in Big Spring. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

FORT WORTH — Juana Sylvia "Wito" Alvarez, 69, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014.

Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 5 p.m. Sunday in Mount Olivet Chapel.

Juana was born March 12, 1945, in Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonardo Garcia; mother, Tiodosa Rodriquez; and sister, Precilia Marquez.

Kimberly Michelle Husted Grigg, 45 of Big Spring was called home Tuesday March 11, 2014. Due to Michelle’s anatomical gift, she will continue to fight the battle against cancer. Michelle was born Sept. 24, 1968, in Pampa, Texas, to Carroll “Honey” and Judy “Mammaw” Husted. She has been a long-time resident of Big Spring and a member of First Baptist Church. She was employed by Howard College of Big Spring at the SWCID campus as administrative assistant to the Provost for 13 years.

Maybelle Singleton Eakins, 91, of San Angelo, a proud resident of Rio Concho Manor, died at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2013, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charles Smith officiating.

Maybelle was born Nov. 17, 1922 in Coahoma, Texas to Henry Samuel and Maybelle Reid Walker. Maybelle was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy Yates Book, 85, an innovator in early childhood education, died early Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Arbor House assisted living facility in Marble Falls, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother; a loyal friend; and active in her community throughout most of her life.

Andra Madry Adams, 58, of Sweetwater, Texas, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in an Abilene, Texas, hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring, Texas with Lloyd Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

She was born May 29, 1955 in San Angelo,Texas and married Lynn Adams April 17, 1987 in Big Spring.
