Lady Steers oust Snyder for first district win

Apparently, the Big Spring Lady Steers made up their minds in practice Wednesday they weren’t going to fall to 0-4 in District 5-3A play.

Whatever was said then, it definitely gave Big Spring a much-needed spark as the Lady Steers upended Snyder 59-53 Friday in Steer Gym.

“We were just determined,” BSHS center Cerbi Ritchey said. “In practice on Wednesday, we decided ‘Hey, we’re tired of this and this isn’t our team. So we’re going to practice hard and we’re going to play hard.’ So we did. We played like we practiced this week and it really paid off.”
