The Lady Steers saw their season come to an end Friday afternoon in Snyder, falling to Andrews in four games in the Regional Semifinals by scores of 11-25, 25-22, 23-25 and 23-25.
Big Spring senior Taylor Seaton was an absolute force on the net, blocking a game-high 18 shots. Seaton also recorded eight kills and six digs. But it wouldn't be enough to stop an Andrews squad bent on a shot at state.
The Coahoma Bulldogs were an extra point away from tying the game with a minute left on the clock. Then, the unthinkable happened. Unable to control the snap, the Bulldogs were forced to attempt a last-second pass into the end zone. It was picked off and returned 100 yards for two-points, ending the Bulldogs' season in the most unthinkable fashion. The 23-20 bi-district loss dropped Coahoma to 6-5 on the season.
In a bi-district playoff game which featured more than 1,000 yards of total offense, the Forsan Buffaloes fell Saturday night to the Sanford-Fritch Eagles 33-26. Brendan Roman broke free for a 96-yard touchdown run and Trevor Burchett scored on a 63-yard run and an 83-yard pass reception from Foster Burchett, but their efforts fell one score shy of seeing the Buffaloes advance to the next round.
After their opening drive ended with the ball hitting the turf, Forsan watched Sanford-Fritch march the field, finding pay dirt on a 40-yard screen pass.
