Steers season to end Friday night

November 3, 2011

As winter approaches and the nights begin to get longer, the sun is quickly setting on another year of Steers' football, with the 0-9 Steers heading into Friday night's season finale in Snyder.

The 2011 season has been a disappointing one for Steer Nation, though fans saw their hometown boys come close in several games. The heart-breaking 7-6 season-opening loss to Fort Stockton seemed to set the tone for the season, as it would be the closest Big Spring would come to a win.

District 2-2A offers plenty of excitement Friday

November 3, 2011

Welcome to the final week of the regular season. Get ready for a bumpy, hard-hitting ride. District 2-2A has all the excitement football fans could want this week, as three area teams jockey for position.

The 6-3 Coahoma Bulldogs have already clinched a playoff spot as they sit side-by-side with Idalou at 5-0 in district play. They will be playing for the district title Friday night in Idalou. Bulldogs' head coach Trey Gardner said it was a win-win situation for his team.
