3 Hawks sign letters of intent

April 28, 2011

Three members of the Howard College men's basketball team will be honing their hoops skills at a higher level next season.

Corey Stern, Joe Bright and Carlos Emory signed letters of intent to attend Division I universities during a Wednesday ceremony at Garrett Coliseum.

Stern will attend Texas State University, Bright will head to Stephen F. Austin and Emory will play ball for the University of Oregon.

All three sophomores played crucial roles this past season for the Hawks, who advanced to the second round of the Region V tournament before falling to McLennan Community College.
