Lady Steers make tough wins look easy

LUBBOCK — The Lady Steers cruised through two tough opponents Tuesday night in Lubbock as they defeated Cooper and Denver City in straight sets. In the first heat of the doubleheader, Big Spring downed the hometown Lady Pirates by scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-16.

Diamond Mayes led the team in blocks with 10, while adding two kills. Clara Benavides recorded a team best 14 digs to add to her two kills, three aces, one assist and one block, while Carson Reibe contributed with 14 digs of her own, along with an ace, assist and kill.
