Johnson leads Forsan to big win

September 17, 2011

FORSAN — The Forsan Buffaloes treated a large homecoming crowd to an offensive display of epic proportions. Ty Johnson touched the ball six times and scored on four of them. Johnson broke free for touchdown runs of 68 and 66 yards, caught a Fosster Burchett pass for a 66 yard touchdown and picked off a Plains' pass and returned it 94 yards for another score.

“It was just fun to watch,” Coach Jason Phillips said. “Ty is truly a gifted athlete and it was one of those nights where everything clicked for him. He is a privilege to coach.”

Steers fall in Monahans

September 17, 2011

Enough can not be said about the Big Spring defense again this week. The eventual 39-3 loss to Monahans Friday night says nothing of the great stands made by the Steers throughout the game, but the stand together strength was evident all the same as Big Spring held the high-powered Loboes to three points — and really only one decent drive — until the two minute mark of the second quarter.
