Roosevelt sweeps Forsan

January 18, 2012

FORSAN — A power outage of sorts kept the Forsan Buffaloes and Lady Buffs out of the win column against Lubbock Roosevelt Tuesday night.

Defensively, both teams had their moments against Roosevelt, but it was a different story on the other end of the court, as offensive shortcomings plagued both teams — The Lady Buffs dropped a 59-27 decision, while the Buffaloes ended the night on the short end of a 51-38 score.

Forsan's girls fell to 12-11 overall and 2-6 in District 3-2A play, while the boys dropped to 11-10 and 2-4.

Big Spring sweeps Sweetwater

January 18, 2012

BOYS' GAME

The first quarter of Tuesday's District 5-3A basketball game between Sweetwater and Big Spring featured five lead changes and ended with the visitors up by just a point, 11-10.

Midway through the second quarter, it was still a contest as the Mustangs trailed by just three (17-14). But the Steers caught fire at that point, going on a 15-1 run to lead by 17, 32-15, at halftime, and never looked back en route to a 64-35 win at Mustang Gym.
