LUBBOCK — The Steers (4-8) kept up with Lubbock Monterey on Tuesday, but in the fourth period, it was the Plainsmen who were able to make the shots to put away the game, handing Big Spring a 61-53 loss.
“It was a tight game going into the fourth quarter,” BSHS Head Coach Cliff Thompson said.
“They made plays at the end. Overall, the flow of the game was good. We played well defensively — we never let it get out of hand — and offensively, we got to the free-throw line a lot.”
Accurate shooting remains Thompson’s priority.
