Howard College Men, Women get road wins against Ranger, Cisco

December 6, 2012

RANGER — The Hawks remained perfect on the season as Howard College defeated Ranger College 84-70 Wednesday.

The 10-0 Hawks started slow, according to Head Coach Mark Adams, but picked up the pace when it was needed.

“It was an important game for us against a very good Ranger team,” Adams said. “It was a hostile environment and we were down at halftime. They played really hard the second half and found a way to win.”

Adams appreciated the test as the Hawks prepare for a tough conference schedule.

Big Spring

For the second time in four days, the Steers found themselves mired in an overtime battle with San Angelo Lake View on Tuesday, and for the second time, Big Spring came away the victors after nipping the Chiefs 65-63.

The first meeting between the Chiefs and the Steers was Saturday at the Doug McCutchen Memorial Basketball Tournament in San Angelo. BSHS ended the weekend with bang when Tyler Graves sunk a three-point shot as time expired to put the Steers up 57-56.

Last night's affair at Steer Gym was just as dramatic.
