Tannehill goes to Dolphins

April 27, 2012

NEW YORK — Former Big Spring High School athlete Ryan Tannehill was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday.

Tannehill was the eighth pick overall and the third quarterback chosen behind Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III.

The Dolphins must think highly of Tannehill. He is the first quarterback the organization has used a first round pick on since the legendary gunslinger Dan Marino.

That doesn't seem to be bothering the young superstar, as he told the Miami Herald, “I don't think there is any pressure or anything like that from that connection.”
