Howard College Men's Basketball Coach Mark Adams said he texted former Hawk star Jae Crowder after learning that he will have a shot to play for the Dallas Mavericks.
“I told (Crowder) my prayers have been answered,” Adams said.
“I am confident that once the Mavs give him some workouts, he will prove himself there.”
Proving himself, according to Adams is nothing new to the 6'6'' Crowder, who was taken as the 34th overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA draft, but as a result of a trade agreement with the Mavericks will be heading to Dallas to begin his professional career.

Summer league basketball is more than just a recreational activity, it is crucial preparation — at least that's how the Lady Wildkats, an elite traveling basketball squad comprised of Big Spring and other athletes sees it.
The team has been competing in invitational tournaments in the previous weeks and holding its own even though most of the teams they play are from larger schools and more populated cities.

One of the toughest jobs in all of sports has to be pitching in the major league. Not too many are called to take the mound against the best batters on the planet, but Reid Scoggins — who just wrapped up his collegiate career as a Howard College Hawk — was selected in the 15th round by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on day one of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.
