Forsan's Horton, Roman sign with Arlington Baptist College

February 9, 2013

FORSAN — A pair of Forsan student-athletes — P.J. Horton and Brendan Roman — signed letters of intent to attend Arlington Baptist College on Friday. Roman will be on the private, four-year school's track and field squad, while Horton plans to run track and cross country.

Both seniors are excited to take their athletic ability to the collegiate level.

“I chose Arlington Baptist because they told me I would run. I won't have to redshirt. I will be running my freshmen year and the coaches told me if I'm in the top seven on the team, I will go to nationals.”

Big Spring

A few weeks ago, not too many people expected much out of the Steers, who seemed befuddled on the court from the start of District 4-3A, which they opened with four straight losses.

But Head Coach Cliff Thompson insisted it was just a phase his squad was going through while they found their identity.
Apparently, they found it.

Big Spring has won four of their last six games, including a thrilling win over Greenwood last week and Friday's season-ending, 74-54 rout of Sweewater.
