The Howard College Hawks and Western Texas College Westerners have rescheduled their Western Junior College Athletic Conference baseball games for today and Friday due to the weather forecast for this weekend.

Howard to open Region V tourney with Highlanders

The Howard College men’s basketball team struggled in its final two outings of the regular season. They backed its way into the Region V Basketball Tournament as the No. 4 seed from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.
Those are facts Hawks head coach Scott Raines isn’t real thrilled about. He believes his team is much better than what the last 80 minutes of the regular season showed.

Howard College places 4 on All-WJCAC team

The Howard College men’s and women’s basketball teams each placed two players on the 2014 All-Western Junior College Athletic Conference basketball teams. The conference honors were released earlier this week.

Steers roll up 106 points at Sandhills Relays

Charlie Boling, Ryan Lopez and Charles Green all collected gold medals on Friday and helped power the Big Spring High School Steers track and field team to an impressive outing at the Sandhills Relays in Monahans.

Karina Alvarado and the The Big Spring High School Lady Steers turned in an impressive outing on Friday at the Region I Powerlifting Championships in Fort Stockton. As a team, the Lady Steers had 10 athletes finish in the top 20 in their respective weight classifications.

Daniel, Willard shine at Region I Powerlifting meet

Carlee Daniel and Jahnia Willard both turned in record-setting performances for the Forsan High School Lady Buffaloes this past weekend at the Region I Powerlifting Championships in Irion County. Both set personal marks in the meet, which was held Friday.

The Forsan High School tennis team, under the guidance of head coach Seth Johnson and assistant coach Amanda Burton, qualified for 2014 State Team Tennis Tournament by finishing second in the Region I Team Tennis Tournament.
