It probably wouldnâ€™t surprise anyone if the Grape Creek Lady Eagles had decided to purchase Kasey Delafuente a roll of duct tape for an early Christmas gift after the way she played on Friday. She may, the Lady Eagles probably felt, need to duct tape her shadow to her back so she doesnâ€™t lose it after being everywhere on the floor.

It is probably pretty safe to say Tobyn Tannehill, Kei-Shawn Broussard and Ty Sealy wonâ€™t be mistaken for Santa Claus anytime soon by anyone in Seminole. Especially after the performance the three turned in en route to leading the Big Spring High School Steers to a 61-53 victory over the Seminole Indians in front of a festive crowd in the Steer Gym on Friday.

Dallas used the 3rd quarter to put this game out of reach. After a tightly contested first half the score was 14-7 in Dallasâ€™ favor. Dallas was able to use an early second half turnover to score a 24 yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo to Cole Beasley. They used great field position to tack on 2 more touchdowns before the end of the 3rd quarter to make the score 35-7. Chicago made the game somewhat close thanks to a 21 point fourth quarter of their own, but it was too little, too late.
The Big Spring High School Lady Steers used a staggering 26-6 run in the final eight minutes of play on Tuesday to power themselves to an impressive 52-27 rout of the Pecos Lady Eagles.
The Lake View High School Chiefs are certainly happy it is the giving season. The Big Spring steers ... probably not so much.
Aided by more than a dozen Big Spring turnovers, Lake View rallied from an early deficit to claim a wild 60-50 come-from-behind decision over Big Spring in a non-district matchup in the Steer Gym on Tuesday evening.
The Howard College men's and women's basketball teams will kick off Western Junior College Athletic Conference play tonight when they face off with rival Midland College in the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum.
The HC women's game will tip off at 5:45 p.m. The men's game will follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
The Lady Hawks enter the game with a 4-7 record. The Hawks are 9-2.

ABILENE â€“ For Stephenville quarterback Jarrett Stidham, Fridayâ€™s playoff matchup with the Big Spring Steers was a chance for a little payback.
In October, Big Spring knocked Stidham out of the game in their first meeting. On Friday, Stidham threw for 277 yards and rushed for 166 and three touchdowns and knocked Big Spring out of the postseason by leading a 59-32 victory in front of a packed crowd at Shotwell Stadium in the third round of the Class 4A Division I regional quarterfinals.
The loss ended a stellar season for the Steers.

Backed by a 48-22 run in the second half, Sands rallied to claim a wild 72-60 victory over the Blackwell Hornets in the regional round of the Class A six-man state playoffs.
With the win, Sands advances to face Loraine in the state quarterfinals. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. next Saturday in Robert Lee.
ODESSA â€“ The Andrews Mustangs beat the Big Spring Steers in everything this high school football season. Andrews was the first team to win 10 games. They were the first to celebrate a win of Homecoming night. And on Friday night in front of a large crowd at Ratliff Stadium, the Mustangs were the first team to make it to basketball season.
Nathan Schneider and a rejuvenated Steers defense made sure of that with a gutsy performance en route to leading Big Spring to stunning 48-34 victory in an area playoff showdown.
