Margarita Ross, 86, of Big Spring, died Friday Dec. 13, 2013, at her residence. Vigil services will be Sunday 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be Monday 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Monsignor Bernard Gully officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born to Polycarpia and Concepcion Carrillo Jan. 1, 1927, in Coahoma, Texas, and was a lifetime resident of Howard County. She married Robert Ross Sept. 9, 1947, in Big Spring. She was a homemaker and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish
Donald Koerber, 71, of Big Spring, died Thursday in an Odessa Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born April 15, 1942, in Wichita, Kan.,Â and married Aloma Kay Graves June 10, 1960, in Phoenix, Ariz. She preceded him in death Dec. 14, 2008.
He was a Christian.
Betty Jane Weaver, formerly of Sand Springs, passed away Dec. 9 at the age of 91 after a lengthy illness.
She was a resident of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Weaver) Hubbard of St. Leon, Ind.; two sons, Richard George Weaver of Eunice, La., and Robert Orin Weaver of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Claude Hayden Roberts, 86, of Bangs, Texas, passed away Dec. 12, 2013, in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early, Texas. Pastor Daniel Vasquez of Victory Life Church in Brownwood, Texas, will be officiating.

For the past 27 years, the First Church of the Nazarene's Drive Through Living Nativity has been a part of the Christmas tradition in Big Spring. It began with seven scenes and has grown over the years â with 14 on view this year.

Mildred Vaughn, 96, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, in a Mansfield, Texas nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Ken McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

BIG SPRING â After a hard-fought matchup, Big Spring fell to Lubbock Monterey 65-59 Tuesday at Steer Gym.
Though it was a loss, BSHS Head Coach Ian Ritchey thought his squad turned in a strong performance.
âI thought we played much better against a very good team from a bigger school,â he said. âIt was only our second game with our whole team and weâre starting to gel and show many signs of good things to come.â
Leading the Steers were Matt Yanez with 13 points, Tavaris Walker with 12 and Tyler Wigington with 11.
Next up for Big Spring will be a tournament in Andrews.
