Teresa Phillips Darden, 44, of Dallas, formerly of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westbrook Cemetery.
Orville Steve Brant, 57, of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Trinity Memorial Park.
Daisy Riggan, 87, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Herb McPherson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
C.H. "Buddy" Arrick Jr., 77, of Odessa, formerly of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in an Odessa nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Walter McCall officiating.

Patsy Padilla, 71, of Big Spring died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
The Big Spring High School boys' golf team took full advantage of their home-course advantage to pad their lead in the District 5-3A golf tournament.
The Steers fired a team total 304 to boost their lead over second-place Abilene Wylie to 21 strokes after second-round play at Big Spring Country Club Wednesday afternoon.
Big Spring's Blake Brorman defied windy conditions to fire a 1-under 71 to lead the Steers and maintain his lead in individual medalist play. Fellow senior Andrew Fillingim shot a 73, followed by Ryan Pollard with a 79, Tate Kennedy at 82 and Devin Roberson with an 86.
