LUBBOCK — The Steers (4-8) kept up with Lubbock Monterey on Tuesday, but in the fourth period, it was the Plainsmen who were able to make the shots to put away the game, handing Big Spring a 61-53 loss.
“It was a tight game going into the fourth quarter,” BSHS Head Coach Cliff Thompson said.
“They made plays at the end. Overall, the flow of the game was good. We played well defensively — we never let it get out of hand — and offensively, we got to the free-throw line a lot.”
Accurate shooting remains Thompson’s priority.

Each year, Spring Tabernacle Ministries hands out hundreds — if not thousands — of toys to make the Christmas season more exciting and gleeful for children in the Big Spring area. This year will be no different.
“We're thrilled about all the good gifts supplied by people and donations of funds which have allowed us to purchase gifts for the children,” said Mona Lue Tonn, pastor of Spring Tabernacle, located at 1209 Wright St. in west Big Spring.
