F.C. Wheeler, 92, of Stanton, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at his residence. His services are pending with Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
BORGER â€” The Howard College women's basketball team apparently decided that enough was enough.
After having lost four Western Junior College Athletic Conference games in a row, then finding themselves in a close battle with Frank Phillips College Monday, the Hawks suddenly found a winning combination, riding the hot hands of Zeslie Johnson and Kali Jerrell to a 65-46 victory over the Lady Plainsmen.
In the nightcap, Shavon Coleman scored 26 points to lead the Howard men to a 68-55 victory over Frank Phillips.

â€˘ AVEL ABREO RAMIREZ, 65, of 1512 Wood St., was arrested Saturday on a charge of public intoxication.
â€˘ CHAD EVERETT COLEMAN, 29, of 4400 N. Holiday Hill Rd. Apt. 915 in Midland, was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
â€˘ DAWN MICHELLE TUBB, 34, of 511 E. 15th St., was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
A Big Spring man was indicted Thursday by a Howard County grand jury on numerous charges stemming from the Aug. 22 chase and attempted shooting of local man that led to the invasion of a familyâ€™s home in the 500 block of State Street.
Brian Christopher Lewis, 27, currently being held at the Howard County Detention Center, was indicted on charges of deadly conduct (two counts, both enhanced first-degree felonies), unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon (two counts, both enhanced first-degree felonies) and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (first-degree felony, enhanced).
Heritage Museum will be showing its romantic side on Valentineâ€™s Day.
In recognition of Valentineâ€™s Day and the new Vintage Valentine exhibit, which will run through March 3, the museum will host an all-day reception.
â€śWe are showing our romantic side at the Heritage Museum with this vintage exhibit,â€ť Museum Director Nancy Raney said.
Part of the exhibit will show how wedding dresses have changed over the past hundred years. On display will be a wedding dress from 1894 and a dress from 1994.
Tripp Atkins would like to announce the birth of his sister, Colbi Jo Atkins. She was born to Timmy and Brooke Atkins of Big Spring on Jan. 6, 2012. at 10:28 a.m.
She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Paternal grandparents are Tim and Julie Atkins of Coahoma. Maternal grandparents are Linda Smith of Port Aransas and Wesley Smith of Fresno.
Great-grandparents are Addie Smith of Colorado City, Merle and Jimmie Looper of Port Aransas and Patricia Atkins of Breckenridge, Texas.
Mariah Nicole Leos, daughter of Adam and Miranda Leos, was born Jan. 26, 2012, at 2:50 p.m.
She weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces and measured 19 inches long.
Her maternal grandparents are Jennifer Castro of Big Spring and Kelly Cassidy of Grant, N.M.
Her paternal grandparents are Carlos and Eva Leos of Big Spring.
She was welcomed home by her brother, Adam Trysten Leos.

â€˘ PAULA ISABEL LEOS, 30, of 1803 S. Owens St., was arrested Thursday on a charge of theft more than $50 and less than $500/shoplifting.
â€˘Â MERRITA CHAMBERS, 59, of 511 NW Eighth St., was arrested Thursday on a charge of public intoxication.
