The 23-6 Howard College Hawks split wins in a doubleheader with the Clarendon College Bulldogs Saturday at Jack Barber Field to conclude a four game series. Howard College lost the first game 5-4, and rallied to take game two 9-8.
Clayton Crum started strong on the mound for the Hawks in game one, and Paul Hendrix homered in the bottom of the fifth inning bringing HC within one run.
Brendon McCurry picked up a RBI in the bottom of the sixth, scoring Reed Seeley who reached base on a walk, making it a 5-3 game.
Trayce Preston Hipp, son of Travis and Paige Hipp, was born Jan. 30, 2012.
He weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Adamson of Coahoma.
She is a 2009 graduate of Coahoma High School and is a senior public relations major at Texas Tech University. She is employed as an accounting assistant for PlainsCapital Bank.
The prospective groom is the son of Jimmie and Debbie McCain of Coahoma.
He is a 2007 graduate of Coahoma High School.
He is employed as a firefighter for the Lubbock Fire Department.
Tonya Bravo and Gerald Lee Harris III, both of Big Spring, announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Juan and Angie Bravo of Big Spring. She is a 2010 graduate of Big Spring High School. She has an expected graduation date in the summer from Howard College.
The prospective groom is the son of Lee and Laurie Harris of Big Spring. He is a 2010 graduate of Big Spring High School. He is employed by 87 Auto Sales in Midland, Texas.
The couple is set to exchange wedding vows June 23, 2012, at Church of Christ, located at 14th and Main in Big Spring.
Rodney and Denise Smith of Lockney, announce the engagement of their daughter, Tessa Michelle Saul, to Britt Casey Clark, son of Casey and Fayelyn Clark of Big Spring.
Tessa is a 2010 graduate of Lockney High School and is scheduled to graduate from South Plains College in May 2012.
Britt is a 2005 graduate of Forsan High School. He attended Howard College and is employed with Atmos Energy in Lubbock.
Their wedding will take place April 14, 2012 in Lockney, Texas.
Internationally known inspirational speaker and artist Richart Hight will be at Hall Center for the Arts in a 7 p.m. performance Monday as part of Howard College Foundation's speaker series.
The event is free to the public but a ticket is required for admission due to limited seating. Tickets can be obtained by calling Howard College at 264-5063 or by visiting the reception desk at the Old Main building on campus.
Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
With reductions in deliveries recently announced by the Colorado River Municipal Water District, officials with the city of Big Spring hope new restrictions â€” which go into effect Sunday â€” will help the municipality cut its water usage by approximately 28 percent.
According to City Manager Gary Fuqua, municipal water customers will be going to a two-hour-a-week schedule for outdoor watering, similar to those adopted by neighboring cities also struggling with the effects of the drought.

â€˘ VINCENT EDWARD MCVEA, 41, of 2508 Dow, was arrested Friday on charges of driving while license invalid, fail to appear (two counts), expired registration, warrant from other agency, failure to identify/fugitive give false information and driving while license suspended/invalid with previous conviction.
Robert â€śBobâ€ť Adair, 54, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, March 29, 2012, in a local nursing home. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Andrews.
Bob was born Jan. 24, 1958, in Andrews.
Survivors include two brothers, Paul â€śSonnyâ€ť Adair and wife Lynn of Big Spring and Terry Adair of Andrews; one sister, Laurie Kennedy and husband Randall of Williams, Ariz.; grandmother, Verniece Ballew of Tucumcari, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. Sr. and Laurel (Ballew) Adair, and two nephews.
Elizabeth Herrera Martinez, 34, of Big Spring died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
She was born July 8, 1977, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Rodney Martinez on June 8, 1994, in Big Spring. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
