The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
• JAMES DAVID KRAMER, 25, of 3911 Rice Rd., was arrested Tuesday on warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to appear (two counts).
• CASEY LYNN SMITH, 18, of 1603 Cardinal, was arrested Tuesday on warrants for no driver's license – when unlicensed, failure to appear (three counts) and failure to use a safety seat system for a child (two counts).
Lee Samuel "Sam" Burns, 82, of Houston died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in a Houston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Ackerly with the Rev. Ray McMorris, pastor, and Derrick Looney, pastor of Forsan Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Ackerly Cemetery.
Peggy Creech, 76, of Stanton died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at her residence. Her services are pending with Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
Helen Sanders, 90, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in a local nursing home. Her services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
Eulalio Rodriguez, 74, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
December 7th
The Big Spring Lady Steers experimented a little bit in their 69-22 thrashing of Pecos Tuesday in Steer Gym.
In 10 games, head coach Mark Warren has already found out a lot about this year's squad. But he wants to know how versatile his offense can be no matter if defenses run man-to-man or the zone.
“I thought it would be a good night just to work on things just to see what's our best zone offense, what's our best press — we changed our presses up a little bit,” he said. “Just a lot of fun. It was a good game with everyone getting to play a lot.”
A Big Spring man was arrested late last week on a charge of injury to a child – serious bodily injury after a 2-year-old victim was taken to the emergency room at Scenic Mountain Medical Center with a broken leg.
Joseph Contreras, 20, was arrested Friday at a relative's home in the 1600 block of Virginia after officials with the SMMC emergency room became suspicious of the child's injuries and called law enforcement officers.
The trial date for a Big Spring man accused of possessing a “rape kit” with intent to commit aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault has been set for mid-January, according to officials with the 385th District Court in Midland.
Juan Jose Guerra, 49, of 1 Courtney Place, was arrested April 28 in Midland after law enforcement officials were notified the suspect was acting suspicious. According to officials, the area in which Guerra was arrested — the 1500 block of Idlewild — is frequented by children, with several dance and gymnastics academies nearby.

• KRISTI LYNN SIX, 40, of Midland, was arrested Monday on a charge of driving while intoxicated – third or more offense.
• RUBEN CISNEROS, 34, of Fort Worth, was arrested Monday on a warrant from another agency.
• DANELLE CHRISTINE OVERTON, 23, of 1503 Lincoln, was arrested Monday on a charge of possession of marijuana – two ounces or less.
• JESSE MARTINEZ, 42, of 107 Becker Rd., was arrested Monday on a charge of theft – shoplifting.
