Kristina Melton, daughter of Tommy and Laurie Melton, of Odessa, exchanged vows with W. E. Tinkler of Midland, son of Walter Tinkler and Mike and Anna McBride on July 23, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Odessa Country Club. A reception followed the ceremony at the country club.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Playa Mujeres, Mexico.

Officials are one step closer in their quest to rename the local VA medical center after Big Spring's only Medal of Honor recipient.
U.S. Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Lubbock), announced Wednesday that his provision in the Veterans Health Care Facilities Capital Improvement Act of 2011 to rename the local VAMC after George H. O'Brien Jr. passed the House of Representatives overwhelmingly.
The vote, to rename the facility the George H. O'Brien Jr. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, was 412-3 in favor of the measure.
A 76-year-old Big Spring man indicted in November 2009 for possession of child pornography was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison this week in an Abilene federal court.
Harvey James Pelland — who was convicted in March of two counts of possessing child pornography and five counts of receiving a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct — was sentenced to serve 151 months in prison to be followed by 10 years of probation.
The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis.

â€˘ JON COLE MCLEOD, 21, of 618 Tulane, was arrested Thursday on warrants for Consumption of alcohol by a minor (two counts).
â€˘ JAMEY SCOTT JOHNSON, 48, transient, was arrested Friday on a charge of disorderly conduct â€“ noise.
A 19-year-old Howard College student was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly carrying a firearm onto the campus, prompting officials to temporarily increase security at the school.
Mobey Cordell Lewis, of 506 Young, was arrested following an altercation at the college on charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon in a prohibited place and possession of marijuana (two ounces or less) in a drug-free zone.
Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker announced Wednesday the human skull found at a salvage yard in mid-December is being prepared for DNA analysis in hopes of identifying who it came from.
According to Parker, the skull was sent to the Lubbock County Medical Examiners Office shortly after its discovery in an effort to determine the cause of death and identify where — and who — it may have come from.

â€˘ CATARINA FRANCO, 20, of 1407 Scurry, was arrested Wednesday on charges of failure to identify and resisting arrest, search or transportation.
Lena Ellen Click Heard, 92, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Chris Heard of Moorpark, Calif., and Robert Thompson of Big Spring officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
