Betty Jo Anderson, 71, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Kirk-Norris, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating.Â
Sometimes a forgotten building, the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce office building houses several entities which each serve a vital purpose in the community. December 8, area residents are invited to visit during an annual open house.

As the Christmas season fast approaches, so does the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn, a fact many who have volunteered their time searching for the girl say ties them in knots.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be stopping at the Heritage Museum Dec. 3.
This wonâ€™t just be a normal stop though, the Clauses will be having breakfast with the children of Big Spring, helping them decorate a gingerbread house and Christmas ornaments.
â€śThis went over really well last year and we figured we would bring it back this year and give more kids the opportunity to have breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus,â€ť said Nancy Raney, museum director.
The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
â€˘ CHRISTOPHER CLINT ENRIQUEZ, 29, of 4914 Wasson Rd., was arrested Thursday on charges of evading arrest or detention and possession of a controlled substance.
â€˘ IAN DYLAN HEATH, 35, of Odessa, was arrested Thursday on warrants for driving without a safety belt and failure to appear.
â€˘ CATHRYN VIERA SALAZAR, 45, of 3304 W. Highway 80 Apt. 17, was arrested Thursday on warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to appear.
Cheryl Clark, 55, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center. Services are pending at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Verna Lee Yancey Turner, 77, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Craig Wascom, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
She was born March 31, 1934, in Colorado City, Texas, and married Billy Ray Turner on Nov. 12, 1961. He preceded her in death March 2, 1996.
George C. Cole III
After a lengthy illness, George C. Cole III died Nov. 9, 2011, in Mesa, Ariz. George was born June 25, 1953, in Big Spring and lived in the surrounding area until moving to Arizona 20 years ago.
George is survived by his son, Justin Cole, and wife Natalie of Pasadena, Calif.; daughter, Chrissy Cole of Denton, Texas; and two sisters, Peggy Lumsden and husband Lou and Terri Hedgecock and husband Joe, all of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudine Cole, and father, George Cole.
GAIL — The star on Gail Mountain will shine for the 18th year beginning this evening.
The 18th annual Lighting of the Star on Gail Mountain will continue the tradition at the Borden County Museum, Courthouse and Courtyard.
Attendees will be able to view the courthouse and museum starting at 5:30 p.m. with time alloted for reminiscing, fellowship, viewing and refreshments. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to visit with the children. Personal cameras are allowed.
