The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday:
â€˘ VALERIE MIRAMONTES GARCIA, 26, of 807 N. Scurry St., was arrested Friday on a warrant for harassment.
â€˘Â COREY ERIK RAMEY, 23, of 3304 W. Hwy 80 30, was arrested Friday on charge of purchase/furnish alcohol for a minor.
â€˘Â ROBERT ANTHONY GRIEGO, 21, of 807 N. Scurry St., was arrested Friday on a warrant for fail to appear.
â€˘ RUBY MUNOZ, 41, of 1429 E. Sixth 32, was arrested Friday on a charge of possession marijuana less than or equal to two ounces.
It's all about the dogs at this show.
The Big Spring Kennel Club Dog Show is at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum through Sunday. The show starts at 9 a.m., breaks for lunch and picks back up at 12:45 p.m. with group judging.
Dog owners and breeders have gathered in Big Spring for the 41st annual dog show. There were 280 dogs from Texas, 31 from New Mexico, 10 from Oklahoma and countless others from as far away as Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Michigan, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington.
Strong wind and the threat of rain didn't deter swashbuckling Relay For Life participants at Blankenship Field Friday and Saturday, who learned their efforts raised more than $170,000 in the fight against cancer.
The unofficial total was announced after the final lap Saturday at $172,073.15, with money from the silent auction, basket auction and underwriters still coming in. The final amount will be made public June 2 at First United Methodist Church's Garrett Hall, when the Howard/Glasscock ACS will have its community wrap up event.

Tommy and Laurie Melton of Odessa want to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristina Melton of Odessa to W.E. Tinkler of Midland.
The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Permian High School and a 2005 graduate of South Plains College and 2007 graduate of University of Texas in Arlington. She is employed as a fifth grade teacher at Goliad Elementary in Big Spring.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clois Snell of Coahoma.
Jay and Mona Davis of De Soto are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Erin Michelle to Paul Robert Haney of Dallas.Paul is the son of Robert and Suzanne Haney of Big Spring. The couple will exchange wedding vows June 6, 2011, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Erin is a 2000 graduate of Texas Christian Academy and is a candidate for spring graduation at the University of Texas at Arlington. She will receive a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology May 13. She is currently student teaching in Arlington ISD.
Luciann C. Cruz and Eric Conrad Barton both of Big Spring announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cruz. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I.R. Carrasco and the late Mr. and Mrs. Felipe Cruz Sr. all of Big Spring.
The groom-to-be is the son of Michelle Barton of Big Spring and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Barton of Pawnee. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Huth of N.D. And Mr. and Mrs. Randall Barton of Pawnee.
Luciann is employed at Inspirations Flowers and Gifts and Eric is employed by Champion Technologies Inc.
Cassie D. Gibson, daughter of Diane Zant, of Big Spring and Joe Gover of Plano and granddaughter of Joe Don and Dena Zant completed basic combat training for the United States Army January 21, 2011, at Fort Jackson, S.C. She stayed there for advanced individual training for wheeled vehicle mechanic which she received distinguished honor graduate as a private first class April 21, 2011. She is stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. With the 1st/7th Air Defense Patriot.
Becky Lynn Cheyne and Zachary Dean Chesworth exchanged wedding vows January 1, 2011. The ceremony was at First Baptist Church chapel in Big Spring. Dr. Mark Alexander of El Paso officiated.
Becky is the daughter of Keith and Vickie Cheyne of Big Spring, and the granddaughter of Red and Venitta Williams of Big Lake. Zachary is the son of Kelly and Jennifer Chesworth of Big Spring, and grandson of Lon Baucum of Abilene.
Maegan Guthrie of College Station served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Whitney Weir of Big Spring, Courtney Johnson of Lubbock and Amanda Heine of Bertram.
