Local resident Karen Ivy is working with Center for Cultural Interexchange to ensure area residents are able to experience different cultures without ever having to leave home. For the past three years, Ivy has been serving as area coordinator and as a host family.

Big Spring City Council is expected to put the finishing touches on ordinances and the fee schedule for the new municipal aquatic center Tuesday night, just in time for the facilityâs grand opening next month.

A former Howard County employee accused of tampering with government records was among 27 people indicted during this week's session of the county grand jury.
Jamie R. Weaver, 35, of Forsan, stands charged of two counts of tampering with a governmental record and two counts of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
