Christopher Scott Holmes III, a boy, was born at 2:05 p.m., at Odessa Regional Hospital, on February 21, 2013. He weighed seven pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 ÂĽ inches long.
He is the son of Tara Camden and Christopher Holmes of Big Spring.
He was welcomed home by his maternal grandparents Terry and Marie Camden and his paternal grandparents Debbie Darnell and Scott Holmes. He is the great-grandson of Kay Dellinger.
Margaret and Marvin Wise celebrated their 55th anniversary at the home of Annie Basden on March 8, with a few friends.
The Wises were married March 8, 1958, at Two Rock Ranch, near Petaluma, Calif. Marvin was in the U.S. Army National Security Agency. Margaret was attending Santa Rosa Jr. College and managing a doctor’s office.
Marvin is from Big Spring and Margaret is from Alpine. They met in December 1957, were engaged Feb. 1 and married March 8, 1958.
Margaret said. “I knew he was the one the minute I saw him; he didn’t have a chance!”
Madyson Gartman, the granddaughter of Buster and Susie Gartman of Big Spring, was named most photogenic and won the people’s choice award at the Miss High School America event, held March 1-3 in Austin.
Gartman, the 15-year-old daughter of Tommy and Kathy Gartman of Longview, is a freshman and a member of the drill team at Pine Tree High School. She enjoys dancing and playing softball.
Madyson will compete in the Miss High School national event in Orlando, Fla., later this year.

Julia Hautmann, a native of Hoermanshofen, Germany, and Adam Thompson of Coahoma plan to exchange wedding vows in August.
Julia, who has resided in Alamogordo, N.M., since 1988, is the daughter of John and Susanne Hautmann of Alamogordo. She graduated from Alamogordo High School in 2006 and plans to graduate from the University of New Mexico in May 2013, with a doctor of pharmacy degree.
Adam is the son of Eddie Thompson of Tularosa, N.M., and Laura Thompson Wilson of Coahoma.
Kendal Layne Adams of Big Spring and Casey Graydon Barham of Archer City, Texas, have announced their intention to be wed March 22, 2013.
The bride to be is the daughter of Ricky and Patti Adams of Big Spring.
She graduated from Big Spring High School in 2005 and received her undergraduate degree in 2009 and her master’s degree in 2011 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
She is employed as a speech pathologist at Wisteria Place Skilled Nursing & Rehab.
The prospective groom is the son of Charley and Deniese Barham.
Kanon Ryder Peterson, a boy, was born Jan. 28, 2013, at Midland Memorial Hospital, weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20-3/4 inches in length.
He is the son of Cade and Shiloh Peterson and the grandson of Terry and Cindy Sanders of Big Spring and Mike and Penny Peterson of Vealmoor.
Aislyn Jade Wallis, a girl, was born at 11:36 a.m. on Feb. 12, 2013, weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19-1/2 inches in length.
She is the daughter of Melinda Sanford of Alvin and Brandon Wallis of Big Spring.
Grandparents are Peggy Parker and Kenneth Sanford, both of Alvin and Vickie Wallis and Steven Wallis, both of Big Spring.
Julie Adams of Dallas, formerly of Big Spring, and Nick Gray, also of Dallas, have announced their intent to be wed.
Julie is the daughter of Joe Mark Adams and Brenda Adams of Midland and the late Deanna Adams.
She is a 2000 graduate of Big Spring High School and a 2004 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. She is employed as a writer and SEO marketing specialist for the Andra Group.
Nick is the son of James and Dianne Gray of Dallas.
