Coahoma High School head coach Trey Gardner and Forsan head coach Jason Phillips had a lot in common on Friday night as they watched their two teams square off in season-opening “Howard Bowl.” Both were less than pleased with the way their team’s played. Mistakes. Turnovers. Penalties. Missed opportunities. In the end, however, Gardner had a little less to be unhappy about.
Steers win season opener in dramatic fashion with a 41-yard "Hail Mary" pass in the end zone as time expires.
MONAHANS – The Big Spring High School defense had every chance in the world to fold up like a cheap suit on Friday night in front of a large crowd at Estes Memorial Stadium. Sure. Kyler Franks and Joseph Melendez both rushed for a pair of touchdowns and helped the Bulldogs reel off a convincing 38-7 rout of the McCamey Badgers on Friday in front of a large crowd at Bulldog Stadium.
Jesse Cervantes rushed for three touchdowns on Friday night and helped the Forsan Buffaloes scratch their way into the win column with a dominating 57-0 rout of the Plains Cowboys.
