‘Nutcracker in a Nutshell’ slated Friday; free to the public

December 1, 2011

The annual performance of “The Nutcracker” may be a few weeks away, but for those wanting to dig deeper, Friday is your chance.

Howard College Dance department and Big Spring Symphony Guild will be presenting “The Nutcracker in a Nutshell.” The event is free to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Hall Center for the Arts on the Howard College campus.

“This is an unusual opportunity to gain insight to “The Nutcracker,” the music and the dance,” Symphony Guild president Eulaine McIntosh said. “It is going to be a fun time for all ages.”

Attendees will be introduced to Clara and the Nutcracker Prince and receive a history of “The Nutcracker” and background information on the characters.
