3 charged with aggravated robbery

Three Big Spring residents are in custody and charged with aggravated robbery after a alert police officer spied the vehicle in which they were traveling and executed a traffic stop.

Arrested were 21-year-old Eufemio Ortiz, a black male; 25-year-old Sunday Luna, a white male; and 28-year-old Ashley Luna, a white female. All three were booked into the county detention center.

According to police records, at 6:34 p.m. Thursday officers were informed of an apparent robbery at Boost Mobile, 406 E. Marcy. Officers learned that a black male allegedly entered the business armed with a handgun and robbed two employees. Witnesses told officers the suspect was seen entering a maroon Buick which was missing door molding on the rear driver's side door.

“Officer Mike Calley observed a vehicle matching that description leaving a convenience store in the 3300 block of E. FM 700,” said Sgt. Tony Everett, Big Spring Police Department public information officer. “Calley activated his overhead lights and stopped the vehicle.”

Everett said police Lt. Bob Fitzgibbons arrived on the scene and the officers removed three suspects. Officers recovered a gun and money from the robbery and a purse that had been taken from one of the victims.
