50th Wedding Anniversary

August 5, 2011

Richard and Sally Grove

Richard (Dick) and Sally Grove celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 4 with a small gathering of family and friends at the Airbase in Wichita, Kansas.
The cocky young airman met and fell for the pretty young dance instructor while playing in the band and the two were soon married. The next 22 years were a blur of world traveling from Europe to the Middle East before the couple finally came to roost in Big Spring in 1981.
Dick completed another 22 years in the post office here while Sally worked for the BSISD. They have now both retired and split their time between family, tending their yard and church, First Baptist of Big Spring.
They remain a constant inspiration to their son Richard, his wife Michelle and their grandchildren Christina, Kevin and the twins Ryker and Tyler. The couple contributes their 50 years of marital success to their love of God, one another and an enduring friendship.
