William and Nancy Gonzalez celebrate 60 years of marriage

William (Bill) and Nancy Gonzalez will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 31, 2012.
Bill was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Detroit, Mich. Nancy L. Huntoon was born Aug. 7, 1932, in East Andover, N.H.
The couple met on a blind date while they were in the Air Force and stationed in San Antonio, Texas. One year later, they were married at the courthouse in Seguin.
The couple had three children; William Jr., deceased; Diana and husband Bill; and Carlos.
They have four granddaughters; Shannon Brown, deceased; Amanda Brown, deceased; Melissa Sayers; and Tori Bohanon, as well as two great-granddaughters; Laila Hoover and Katie Kirkham, all of Big Spring.
Bill is retired from the U.S. Air Force and the Met Life Insurance Company.
Nancy is retired from the U.S. Postal Service after working 27 years at the Big Spring office.
They are affliated with the Catholic and Protestant churches and are life members of the American Legion.
Throughout their marriage, they have lived in El Paso, Texas, Limestone and Bangor, Maine, Rapid City, S.D., Spain, and Central and South America.
Big Spring has been their home since 1965.
They said their secret was, “Trust, communication and compromise and God are the foundation of their long life together.”
