Accentuate the positive: Tell Chamber what's good about Howard County

October 18, 2011

Howard County residents are asked to focus on the positive, but that’s not all.

The Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce not only wants residents to find positive things around the county, but to put them down on paper and submit them.

“There are positive things about Howard County and all those positive things are for the betterment of the communities,” Debbye ValVerde, executive director of the chamber, said.

The main idea behind the campaign is to get people thinking about the positive things instead of solely focusing on the negatives. If people can come back with positive things when someone approaches them with negative comments, it will help get rid of the negative talk, according to chamber president Terri Johansen.
