AG’s office investigating death of Alzheimer’s patient

September 20, 2011

The Texas Attorney General’s Office is investigating the death of a patient who apparently walked away from Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home Saturday.

According to Big Spring Police Department Lt. Terry Chamness, the patient — whose name has not been released to the media — was discovered lying in the roadway near the 500 block of the Lamesa Highway.

“Officers found the man lying in the roadway,” Chamness said. “There was no indication that he had been struck by a vehicle. He was transported to the Scenic Mountain Medical Center emergency room, where doctors examining him also said there was no indication he had been hit.”
