Alejandra 'Ale' Smithwick Doporto

Alejandra 'Ale" Smithwick Doporto, 69, of Odessa, formerly of Big Spring died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at her son’s residence. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Nov. 6, 1942, in Little Rock, Ark., to Gregoria and Albert Smithwick Sr. She lived most of her life in Big Spring, except for the last 21 years in Odessa. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

She is survived by her husband, Salvador Fuentes of Odessa; two daughters, Irma Leos and husband Johnny of Big Spring and Debra De Los Santos of Odessa; three sons, Johnny Doporto Jr., David Doporto and Jerry Doporto and wife Debbie, all of Big Spring; two brothers, Albert Smithwick and wife Celia of Big Spring and Joe Smithwick and wife Jeri of San Angelo; four sisters, Janie Frausto and husband Joe, Dorothy Bridges and Beatrice Ramirez, all of Odessa, and Mary Harrison and husband Eddie of Cibilo; half brothers, Benny Smithwick and Johnny Smithwick, both of Big Spring; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Doporto in 2002; one brother, Salome Smithwick; and two sisters, Frances Haro and Nancy Qualls.
