Alex Torres, 57, of Big Spring died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at his residence. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be at Coahoma Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 3, 1956, in Big Spring to Juana and Santos Torres. He grew up in Coahoma and graduated from Coahoma High School. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad since 1974 as a conductor. He was a lifetime resident of Howard County and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

He is survived by his mother, Juana “Jane” Torres of Coahoma; a sister, Beatrice Padron of Fort Worth; three brothers, Eddie Torres and his wife Micki of Mansfield, Henry Torres and his wife Nell of Watauga, and Albert Torres and his wife Leticia of Big Spring; and 13 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Santos Torres, in 1975.
