Alfred Ray Lang, 62, of Big Spring, Texas, died Wednesday Aug. 6, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Services and burial will be in Giddings, Texas.

He was born to Inez and Tenolia Lang on April 15, 1952 in Marlin, Texas. He had been a resident of Big Spring for more than 30 years. He was a certified welder and had worked for Big Spring State Hospital and Golden Plains Care Center. He also was a carpet layer. He was a member and trustee at Mount Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Lang, of Big Spring; three daughters, Toya Lenford of Houston, Alfreda Lang of Big Spring and Tiffany Mathews of Arlington, Texas; three sons, Chance Lang, Michael Lang and Leon Lang all of Big Spring; two brothers, the Rev. Otis Lang and the Rev. Edward Lang both of Giddings, Texas; two sisters, Dora Lee Lang and Linda Lang, both of Dallas; three grandchildren; in-laws, Ulysses and Jewel Mathews, Marta and Ken Maclin and Phillip and Gigi Mathews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son: Deon Lang; two sisters: Eldora King and Renea Williams; one brother Robert Lang and one sister-in-law Sharon Mathews.
