Alice Stout

SAN ANGELO — Alice Stout departed from this Earth to her celestial home on June 3, 2013. Visitation will be all day Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the funeral home, with family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Peace Chapel in Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with the Rev. Ellen King officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.

Alice was born to Otho and Mamie Johnson in Emporia, Kan., on Nov. 17, 1921. She attended Emporia High School and Emporia State prior to meeting and marrying Clark H. Stout on Nov. 30, 1941.

She was a homemaker during their 51 years of marriage. She and Clark traveled extensively around the country, making many friends along the way. Alice was a lifetime member of Miriam Chapter 14 Order of the Eastern Star in Emporia, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and husband, who died in 1993.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Marianne and husband J. Fred Simpson; granddaughter, Diane and husband Charles Ditmore; grandson, Jon and wife Barbara Simpson; great grandchildren, Morgan and Haley Ditmore and John Lee Simpson, all of San Angelo.

Alice’s family would like to thank Dr. Brenda Owens, Dr. Denver Marsh, the entire staff of Sagecrest (Tucker unit) and Baptist Hospice for their love and care.

Memorials may be sent to Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas or Lighthouse for the Blind in San Angelo.
